Lesson 1
Looking at MS PAINT
A)
You are using either MS Word or Internet Explorer. You
will need to open and switch between MS Paint and the program you are currently
using. It
is easy to do this. You keep the one you are not using at the bottom of your
screen on what is know as the Task Bar. We say the program is
MINIMISED (made smaller). When you need it again you can just click
on it on the Task Bar to open it again. We call this MAXIMISING (making
bigger)
B)
Have a go.
First
minimise this MS Word/Internet Explorer
file. To do this, look in the very top right hand corner of the screen. Click on
the little minus sign.

The
file disappears!
Second Open MS Paint, then minimise it. Look at the Task Bar. Can you see two names on it? Click on one. It should reappear on your screen!
Most Windows programs have the three corner icons as shown in the picture above. Do you know what the middle one does? What happens to the middle icon after you click on it? What does the 'X' do?
Well done - You have finished Lesson 1. Keep practising by opening and minimising other programs.
