Looking at MS PAINT
A) Open paint and look at the icons on the left. You should be looking at something like this:
Here is an explanation of some of the icons and what they will do. "Click" on them as you work down the list and see what happens.
Cutting
Tools
– These are used for a whole or part of an image.
You can move, copy or get rid of a part. If you need to select very carefully-
then use the star shaped tool but the rectangle shape is far quicker and easier.
Rubber
– says what it does
Fill
– This lets you fill a shape with colour or
change the background colour
Colour
Dropper
– This enables you to select a
colour from one part of a picture to use again.
Zoom
– This makes a picture larger and lets you work
on improving the fine detail. Your screen can become eight times larger.
Pencil
–For fine drawing.
Paintbrush
– This is for painting small or large areas. There are 3
different brush sizes and shapes. Can you see how to choose the size you want?
Spray
can – For spray effects. There are at least
three sizes. Can you see how to choose the one you want?
Text
– This lets you write anywhere. You can change the font,
size or colour of the text.
Line
Tools
– Choose
either a straight line tool or a curved line tool. There are 5 sizes to choose
from. Can you see how to select the one you want?
Shape Tools – These tools allow you to draw outline shapes or filled shapes. The polygon tool lets you draw complex (many-sided) shapes. See what you can create!
